Responsibilities
Build real hardware and own designs from first concept through production
Work on open-ended engineering problems where requirements evolve and tradeoffs matter
Comfortably move between analysis and physical iteration—designing parts, building prototypes, testing them, learning from failures, and improving the design
Collaborate closely with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to deliver practical, reliable mechanical systems
Qualification
Required
6+ years of mechanical design experience using SOLIDWORKS
2+ years of experience with complex surface modeling
Strong experience working with manufacturers and applying DFM/DFA for cost-effective, scalable production
Hands-on prototyping experience using 3D printing and machining
Preferred
Experience working with MCUs, sensors, and basic hardware interfacing
Designing for harsh or outdoor environments, ideally including marine applications
System-level debugging, hardware/software integration, and structured test approaches
Familiarity with industry standards for safety-critical or mission-critical hardware
