GRANT ACCOUNTANT
El Centro de Corazón is a health center focused on managing various grant funding sources. The Grant Accountant is responsible for financial management, compliance, and reporting of all federal, state, local, and private grant funding, ensuring accurate accounting and adherence to funder requirements.

Responsibilities
Maintain accurate accounting records for all grants in the accounting system (e.g., MIP), including grant codes, budgets, and reporting segments
Monitor expenditures to ensure costs are allowable, allocable, reasonable, and within budget
Prepare grant drawdowns and reimbursement requests in accordance with funder guidelines
Prepare budgets and financial information for grant and contract applications
Reconcile grant expenditures monthly to the general ledger and budget
Analyze grant revenue and expenditure reports and prepare budget projections
Compile and analyze financial data for various reports to agencies
Prepare internal financial grant reports for program managers and senior leadership
Support preparation of annual budgets and grant applications by providing accurate financial data
Track program income, match requirements, and carryover balances as applicable
Prepare ancillary reports for governmental entities, including cost allocation plans
Maintain proper documentation for all grant-related transactions
Collaborate with various departments in preparing grant proposals
Work with auditors and funders to gather data for grant reviews and audits
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual operating budgets
Prepare documentation for audit inspections of financial transactions
Educate program staff on grant rules and monitor compliance
Other tasks assigned by the Chief Financial Officer
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university
Three years of healthcare or nonprofit government grant accounting experience, preferably in a federally qualified health center (FQHC)
Exceptional knowledge of accounting, budgeting, grants management, and GAAP
Ability to analyze complex fiscal and performance data and communicate results effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general ledger software systems
Effective oral and written communication skills
