Operations Intern, WSP (2026 Summer)
Westfield Specialty Insurance is offering a paid ten-week internship program that provides students with insight into the insurance business. As an Operations Intern, you will assist with various operational tasks, gain hands-on experience, and learn from industry leaders while working on real projects.

Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day operational tasks, such as document processing, policy issuance, and record maintenance
Help review and verify insurance applications and forms for completeness and accuracy
Support processing of endorsements, renewals, and cancellations
Help identify data inconsistencies and perform quality assurance checks
Generate reports and summaries to support underwriting, claims, or compliance teams
Collaborate with departments such as underwriting, claims, customer service, and compliance to resolve operational issues
Assist in responding to internal inquiries related to policy status, documentation, or process flows
Document and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) or process maps
Attend training sessions to learn about insurance products, policy administration systems, and regulatory requirements
Gain exposure to business operations and how they support the overall insurance value chain (underwriting, claims, billing, customer service)
Shadow professionals across different departments to understand cross-functional operations
Help ensure policies and procedures follow company guidelines and regulatory standards
Assist with preparation for internal or external audits by organizing and retrieving required documentation
Qualification
Required
Currently matriculated student enrolled at a 4 year college or university pursuing either a Bachelors or Masters degree (required)
Strong GPA preferred (Minimum GPA of 3.2 required)
Strong interpersonal skills, including strong oral and written communication skills
Technically adept/digitally savvy
Ability to be onsite in office 4 days a week
Preferred
Leadership experience through work or involvement in community service, athletics, clubs, or other activities preferred
