Supervisor, Clinical Information Systems Analyst - Epic

Responsibilities

Leads, motivates, develops, and supports a team of analysts/support staff
Works to establish and maintain valuable relationships that are collaborative both within in outside Health IT
Oversees staff to ensure that they collaborate with and provide expert-level support to their counterparts from other Epic applications and Health IT and/or affiliates
Collaborates with leadership to ensure timelines and deliverables are realistic and actionable
Manages projects, programs, and work activities of the team, ensuring deliverables are met on time and on budget
Tracks and measures team, project, and individual performance goals, and adjusts strategies, as necessary
Works with leadership, key stakeholders, and their team to identify, document, and implement potential process and workflow improvements
Assists project managers in identifying system capabilities and designing and executing project plans
Lead working sessions with team members to review and resolve cross-application and specialty module requests and support issues
Ensures application build corresponds with underlying workflows and processes; liaises with others as needed to achieve this level of understanding
Documents specifications for both internal users and end-users; contributes to other Health IT teams’ documentation
Designs and scopes complex projects and statements of work, including deliverables, timeline, milestones, and resource estimations
Leads trainings and working sessions for team members and staff; mentors, coaches, and trains Clinical Information Systems analysts and support staff
Provides technical expertise for system upgrades. Builds, designs, tests, and documents functionality of new system features
Based on clinical project requests, works with requestors and users to understand and document current workflow with an eye toward proposed future workflows that are optimized for any planned application changes
Presents recommended system enhancement opportunities and creative technical solutions for complex clinic-related scenarios
Performs ongoing maintenance and configuration updates to Epic applications
Creates test scripts, timelines, and plans for application and workflow changes
Performs actual testing of clinical information system configuration and processes, including testing across applications and/or the testing of the application configuration of other analysts
Coordinates system fixes and changes with software vendors
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum five (5) years of experience in field required; three (3) years of supervisory experience or leadership role highly preferred

Escalation & resolution: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- fostering timely escalation identification and resolution accountability and integrity

Benefits

Medical - UT SELECT Medical insurance is offered free for employees and administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. Family members can be added to the plan through payroll deduction. FSAs - Employees can enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs) to set aside money from earnings before taxes for qualifying dependent day care expenses or out-of-pocket health care expenses.
Retirement - Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.
Time Off - A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire. Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken. Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment. Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year.
