Aircraft Status Board (ASB) Engineer

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a leader in remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance systems. The Aircraft Status Board (ASB) Engineer will manage and develop ASBs to improve product safety and reliability, collaborating with various stakeholders to analyze and report on engineering data.

Responsibilities

Work with internal and external customer stakeholders to determine scope, urgency, actions, and impacts of ASBs
Create and interpret database reports
Perform data analysis using various databases and Microsoft Excel
Update ASB status in the ASB SharePoint database and the AMS System
Read and understand engineering drawings, bill of materials, specifications, technical documents, and technical publications
Collaborate with other engineering groups to perform analysis on systems to provide rational for ASB changes
Review ASBs prior to stakeholder review and signature approval
Obtain stakeholder concurrence and approval for ASB releases
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Perform other duties as assigned
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

Required

Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
Strong technical writing skills – must be able to convey complex technical issues in a clear, concise manner
Ability to work independently
Must be able to effectively work with multi-disciplined technical and non-technical staff
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required
Must have thorough database research experience
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems
Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks
Able to work extended hours as required
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required

Preferred

Experience working on aircraft is highly desired
Working knowledge of SharePoint is highly desired
