Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Strategic Communication Programs. Design and execute comprehensive communication strategies within an assigned vertical(s) that align with MSC's vision, values, and long-term business objectives. Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and reinforces our strategy, focus and brand across all touchpoints
Be the Voice of MSC for Our Associates. Serve as a trusted storyteller who brings MSC's vision, strategy, and culture to life. Create narratives that inspire pride, foster engagement, and connect associates to our purpose and goals
Lead Communication Planning for Key Initiatives. Build detailed communication plans for organizational priorities, including major initiatives, cultural programs, and change management efforts. Anticipate challenges and craft messaging that drives clarity and confidence
Create Content That Connects. Develop compelling, associate-focused content that informs, motivates, and strengthens our sense of community. Ensure every message reflects MSC's tone and values
Write and Design for Multiple Channels. Produce engaging content for newsletters, intranet, leadership updates, digital platforms, and other channels. Adapt messaging for different audiences and formats to maximize impact
Collaborate Across the Business. Partner closely with designated functional group(s) to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging. Act as a communication advisor to help leaders deliver messages effectively
Measure and Optimize Engagement. Track performance metrics, engagement levels, and feedback to continuously improve communication strategies. Use insights to refine content and enhance the associate experience
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent area of study or equivalent experience is required
Minimum of seven years of relevant work experience required
Minimum five years of experience in internal communications, associate engagement, or related fields
Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, inspiring messages that resonate with diverse audiences
A flair for crafting engaging content across multiple formats—digital, print, video—and leveraging innovative approaches to capture attention
Hands-on experience with intranet platforms, email tools, and emerging communication technologies to connect associates wherever they are
Ability to align communication plans with business priorities and measure impact through data-driven insights
Strong collaboration skills to partner effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and pivoting quickly when needed
A valid driver's license may be required
Position requires up to 20% of travel
This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”)
