System Safety Engineer Stf - Level 4

Responsibilities
Performing Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Software Hazard Analysis (SWHA), and other safety analysis methodology
Conducting risk assessments and trade studies needed to evaluate and optimize design choices and recommend appropriate controls to mitigate safety hazards
Interfacing and coordinating system safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management and external customers
Establishing software safety requirements in accordance with the appropriate standard and evaluating the functional impacts of noncompliance in coordination with design SMEs
Qualification
Required
Experience in system safety engineering and analysis
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Must be a U.S. citizen
Ability to obtain a secret clearance
Preferred
F-35 Engineering Experience
Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754
Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes
Familiarity with implementing a Software Safety Program or Software System Safety experience
Military or civilian flight experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with communicating cross-functionally
