InternLoureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern to join their Environmental Engineering Division in Plainville, CT. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting environmental site investigations, permitting, and remediation projects while working alongside experienced engineers, scientists, and geologists.
Environmental Engineering
Responsibilities
Assist in engineering calculations related to site assessment and remediation
Participate in field sampling programs involving soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and vapor
Support the design, operation, and monitoring of environmental remediation systems
Conduct research on historical site data, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements
Tabulate, analyze, and interpret environmental data
Prepare figures, reports, work plans, and technical correspondence
Assist with environmental permitting and licensing efforts
Learn and apply standard operating procedures and health & safety protocols
Contribute to project proposal development and time/expense estimates
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Junior, senior, or graduate-level student pursuing a degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Sound knowledge of environmental engineering principles
Strong computer and writing skills
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
Enthusiastic and curious about environmental problem-solving
Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
Team-oriented and adaptable to changing project needs
Eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Preferred
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus
Prior internship or relevant project experience is a plus
