Responsibilities
Work under the direction of the supervisor of the Switchboard/Answering Service supervisor
The Switchboard attendant will answer all calls promptly and courteously, recording messages accurately, and deliver messages following the physicians instructions
Keep accurate status information according to hospital policy. Cross-train in the area of the Switchboard and maintain proficiency
Maintain a friendly, caring, and professional attitude toward all employees, patients and other calling parties
Provide a good working environment within the department to insuring a safe and clean work environment
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
One year of working in a business environment
Preferred
Previous experience dealing with the public is preferred
One year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred
