Staff Engineer (Advanced Manufacturing)

The Senior Engineer - Advanced Manufacturing will lead projects to advance production processes, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives and driving innovation in manufacturing systems.
Responsibilities
Process Development: Lead project team through Production Preparedness Process (3P) events to analyze, design and implement manufacturing systems that meet SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) metrics and long-term value stream strategy
Project Management: Lead a cross-functional team of professional engineers and other supporting roles responsible for planning and executing projects that achieve the objectives of Production Operations
Process Innovation: Research and select suppliers and other vendor partners with a focus on driving identification and adoption of new technology to advance manufacturing processes in alignment with customer expectations and company goals
Project Reporting: Present project statuses to leadership using data driven analysis to inform process, equipment, and production decisions. Monitor project and process targets, recommending strategic changes when needed to meet deadlines
Budget Management: Own project capital budgets of $10M+, including estimating costs and ROI, controlling expenditures and reporting performance to target
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the cross-functional team to drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance the quality of processes within the Manufacturing Engineering function and ensure results directly support improved customer satisfaction
Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required
Communicate effectively and respectfully with others

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering degree with equivalent experience
8+ years of demonstrated experience in designing and implementing processes within a high-volume, high-mix or semi automated manufacturing environment
Expertise in manufacturing engineering strategies and tools with extensive knowledge in value stream mapping, lean six sigma, DFMA, and manufacturing systems design
Proven record of leading projects with challenging scope, schedule and cost targets from concept through validation and sustainment
Adept business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex systems to identify high impact opportunities, guide informed decisions, solve challenging issues, and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement
Excellent organization and communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation); able to interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from senior executives to support staff, and present compellingly to achieve buy-in from executives, managers, and team members
Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience
Ability to travel as required
Preferred
Master's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
