Responsibilities

Ensure UCSF submits nominations for prestigious national and international faculty awards
Identify potential nominees and nominators for awards
Provide project management to ensure timely submission of nominations
Support the writing and editing of nomination materials
Maintain a current list of award opportunities and deadlines
Communicate information about opportunities to the UCSF community
Manage existing faculty award programs within the Chancellor’s Office
Oversee the process for each award cycle from call for proposals through award notification
Publicize opportunities and communicate with applicants and nominators
Coordinate work of the advisory committee and schedule meetings
Submit recommendations to the Chancellor as appropriate
Communicate with internal stakeholders such as University Development and Alumni Affairs
Ensure recordkeeping and implement process improvements
Develop processes and procedures for new award programs with the Chancellor’s Office
Contribute to the success of communications, programs, and events within the Chancellor’s Immediate Office

Required

Bachelor's degree in related area and 5+ years directly related work experience; and/or equivalent experience / training
5+ years of related work experience
Advanced knowledge of common organizational- or research-specific and other computer application programs, including the Microsoft suite, Adobe Acrobat, web-based application submission systems, and survey tools
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and influence, both verbally and in writing
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
Advanced project management skills
Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
Experience working with faculty or academic leadership

Preferred

Advanced degree in communications or health sciences
Terminal degree in communications or health sciences
Thorough knowledge of organizational or initiative processes, protocols and procedures
Advanced knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques
Advanced analytical / problem-solving skills
Experience drafting or copy-editing faculty award nominations
Experience managing a research funding program
Experience working with faculty or academic leadership
