Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded hardware systems, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection

Develop, test, and debug embedded firmware in C/C++ or assembly for microcontrollers, SoCs, and FPGAs

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and ensure seamless hardware-software integration

Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and validation testing (EMC, thermal, functional)

Optimize power consumption, performance, and reliability of embedded systems

Lead prototyping, bring-up, and debugging of new hardware platforms

Interface with vendors and manufacturing partners to support production and DFM/DFT

Be an active member in the Emerson Technical community

Required

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering experience

+ 5 years of experience in embedded hardware. Firmware development is a plus

Hands on experience with schematic capture (e.g., Altium, OrCAD) and PCB layout tools

Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers)

Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, SWD, and in-circuit emulate

Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred

Strong experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M/R/A), SoCs, FPGA, and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB, Ethernet)

Product Lifecycle management experience

Microsoft Azure DevOps experience

Experience leading control system migration projects

Ability to multi task and set simultaneous priorities

Knowledge of Systems Engineering Concepts – Project Management, Risk Planning, Six Sigma and Quality is highly desirable
