Responsibilities
Managing and directing the purchasing activities of the campus
Provides procurement and supply management services to the UCLA campus
Identifies sources, negotiates pricing, terms, and conditions
Establishes price reasonableness, and awards contracts for goods and services
Develops, structures, negotiates and administers contractual documents that establish business relationships with contractors, customers and/or partners
Collaborates with internal partners as well as legal staff to structure contracts
Provides professional contracting services in compliance with system-wide and campus policies and procedures
Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies
Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions
Manages a team that supports the teaching, research, and community service mission of the University
Applies performance measures and ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods, services, the food program for the residence halls, and research subawards
Handles high-profile negotiations and RFx personally as needed
Qualification
Required
Experience in managing and directing purchasing activities
Ability to identify sources and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions
Experience in establishing price reasonableness and awarding contracts for goods and services
Experience in developing, structuring, negotiating, and administering contractual documents
Ability to collaborate with internal partners and legal staff to structure contracts
Knowledge of compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies
Experience in advising management on contractual rights and obligations
Ability to manage a team that supports the teaching, research, and community service mission of the University
Experience in applying performance measures and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services
Ability to handle high-profile negotiations and RFx personally as needed
