Audit Manager - Real Estate
Miller Cooper & Co., Ltd. is a leading independent public accounting firm in Chicago, seeking an Audit Manager for their Real Estate division. The role involves managing client engagements, supervising staff, and building strong client relationships while ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services.

Responsibilities
Manage the overall progress of engagements in relation to staffing, budgets, deliverables, and deadlines for various real estate clients
Review all workpapers, financial statements and tax returns before submission to manager/principal for further review
Supervise assigned in charge/supervisors and ensure evaluation reports are completed
Actively mentor teams during engagements and support their learning and overall career progression
Manage the client relationships year-round, not just during the engagement, and look for opportunities to provide additional services
Build trust and a personal connection with owners/decision makers in addition to the accounting team, learn about clients outside of their business
Effectively schedule and staff engagements and work to improve the realization and utilization
Proactively build a referral network of bankers and professionals and seek new business opportunities
Other duties as assigned, such as special projects, including other agreed upon procedures set forth by clients
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting
CPA License required
6+ years of experience of experience in public accounting, preferably at a mid-market firm, with experience serving clients in the real estate industry
Experience in auditing and accounting for complex real estate transactions, including lease accounting (ASC 842), fixed asset capitalization, acquisition accounting (ASC 805), and related journal entries. Strong accounting skills are required
At least one year of experience at a Manager level
Passion for client service and an entrepreneurial mindset
DAILY ACCESS TO RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION to travel to and from client locations and our office locations
