Responsibilities
Responsible for greeting patients and visitors warmly and professionally
Answer phone calls
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Keep the front desk and waiting area clean, organized, and welcoming
Completing annual HIPPA & TTUHSC Institutional Compliance trainings
Other duties assigned as needed by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Ability to read and write equivalent to completion of the 10th grade plus one year experience
Preferred
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and appointment-scheduling software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and staff
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations
Problem-solving skills to handle patient concerns or issues
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff
Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional
Experience in a medical office or similar environment preferred
Proficiency with office software and scheduling systems
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, professional, and patient-focused demeanor
Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Responsible for assisting patients and visitors in the completion of Release of Information forms
