Lead Geologist - Site Investigation & Remediation

Responsibilities
Help solve problems and document solutions, express ideas through strong technical writing and verbal communication, and support technical reports, plans, and calculations in a consulting environment
Work on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, with substantial emphasis on soil, soil vapor/gas, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and stormwater investigations and remediation systems; chemical fate and transport assessment; hazardous waste management; permitting; and site planning
Provide guidance on green and sustainable remediation techniques for a variety of clients who would like to minimize their carbon footprint
Support litigation projects through cleanup cost evaluation and preparing materials for mediation and expert testimony
Be a member or leader of teams providing environmental consulting services to commercial and government clients
Perform complex technical tasks under oversight of more experienced technical reviewers/directors as appropriate
Possess knowledge and technical skills in Federal, Oregon and Washington regulations

Qualification
Required
B.S. or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline
7 or more years post-education environmental consulting experience
Professional registration in Oregon or Washington (preferably both) if a Geologist/Hydrogeologist
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Consistent and highly accurate project work
Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
Comfortable working within both small and large project teams to achieve objectives
Ability to work in industrial and field environments as well as in the office
Flexible to work outside of business hours, when necessary
Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook, in particular
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
Preferred
Master's Degree is preferred
40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired
