Responsibilities
Ensure product and component designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost, and quality
Collaborate with design teams to translate requirements into supplier-ready documentation
Review and approve supplier proposals and engineering change requests
Review and validate PPAP submissions from suppliers, ensuring alignment with design intent
Support dimensional analysis, material certification, and functional testing as part of PPAP
Drive resolution of PPAP-related issues and ensure timely approvals
Work closely with sourcing, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers
Participate in technical design reviews, and as needed in supplier assessments
Maintain accurate records of design changes, PPAP approvals, and engineering tests
Preparing detailed drawings used for purposes of supplier quotations, manufacturing, and final assembly
Ensure compliance with internal standards
Capture, share, and apply lessons learned to future projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or relevant experience
3-5 years of experience in product engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or sourcing environment
Experience with PPAP and DFMEA
Expert proficiency in CAD. Experience with Solid Edge preferred
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including casting, stamping, injection molding, etc
Expert proficiency in GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis
Understanding of materials and design considerations based on environmental performance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight timelines
