N/C Technician A

The N/C Technician A will analyze, troubleshoot and repair malfunctions on a wide variety of advanced technology machine tools and electronically controlled plant equipment.

Responsibilities
Independently diagnoses and repair unusual and difficult electronic, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical malfunctions of computer controlled electronics and subsystems to optimum operating condition. Regularly uses a wide variety of test equipment including oscilloscopes, frequency counters, function generators, stroboscopes, laser measurement equipment, voltmeters and ammeters in machine diagnoses and repair
Becomes thoroughly familiar with and adheres to machine operation and adjustment procedures, lubrication and alignment requirements and preventive maintenance instructions. Adjusts, calibrates and verifies operational performance of subsystems and their integration with other systems
Assists in developing and performing preventive maintenance including periodic inspection, testing and servicing of machines. Maintains documentation and service records as required
Works with equipment manufacturer's service personnel during installation, alignment, calibration, repair or modification of machines
Guides and instructs one or two lower grade employees
Performs other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification and two years specialized training in mechanical/electronics repair
Requires a thorough understanding of a broad range of electronic, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic principles and their application to machine tools and factory equipment
Must be competent in the use of blueprint and schematic materials and in using a wide range of appropriate machine diagnostic equipment
Requires over five years of service experience with complex automated equipment which utilizes combinations of computer, electronic, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components
