Finance Cluster Supervisor (Hybrid) - Arts & Sciences
Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Finance Cluster Supervisor to oversee the finance and accounting staff in the Arts & Sciences Administrative Clusters. This role involves managing operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities, ensuring effective service to academic units, and improving business processes.

Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate staff in the cluster. Plan and allocate resources to delegate tasks and assignments effectively and to accomplish the work to meet department and school productivity and quality goals
Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and procedures to enhance quality, efficiency, and output
Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of assigned departments/units in finance cluster
Manage all departmental accounts, faculty research accounts, and special funds (includes authorizing spending decisions)
Responsible for preparation of annual budgets, reports, and all accounting activities
Assist with purchasing decisions (including equipment, furnishings, and supplies)
Oversee, manage, and approve all transactions through Workday and all procurement card transactions
Work with payroll coordinator(s) to ensure good communications regarding HR issues in units
Provide transactional support as needed to assist with workflow and project needs; provide cross-coverage for staffing needs; and stay current with routine systems processes for training and supervision needs. Includes both entry and approval of financial transactions in Workday
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education
Relevant Experience (3 Years)
Preferred
Five years of progressively responsible experience, with a background in accounting, financial transaction processing, or accounts payable
Previous experience in an academic environment and prior experience with the Washington University Financial Information System and the Cognos financial reporting system are preferred
