Bridge Design Engineer

Responsibilities

Take on leadership roles and will be responsible for the delivery of projects, will assist Project Managers in identifying issues and developing solutions
Perform structural design and detailing of railroad bridge components as one of the primary project engineers with limited guidance from Project Managers and Senior Structural Engineers
Perform tasks on multiple, concurrent projects
Perform additional duties and responsibilities, including field and construction service assignments as needed
Perform railroad bridge analysis, design and detailing based on the AREMA Manual
Identify appropriate steps in the bridge design and detailing process, and the initiative to complete the necessary tasks
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisor, and other team members
Effectively receive and convey ideas and information orally and in writing with co-workers, project managers, supervisor, and other team members

Qualification

Railroad Bridge Design ExperienceProfessional Engineering License (PE)CADD SoftwareStructural Analysis SoftwareLeadership SkillsCommunication SkillsProblem-Solving Skills

Required

At minimum a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
Professional Engineering License (PE) or within 6 months of obtaining
Railroad Bridge Design Experience required
Familiarity with CADD software, Microsoft Office Software, and structural analysis software
Ability to develop effective leadership and communication skills necessary to lead teams of engineers and technicians
Problem-solving skills necessary to resolve both design and detailing issues
