Electronics Technician Class II
Salt Lake City School District is seeking an Electronics Technician Class II to maintain and repair various electronic systems within the district. The role involves installing, monitoring, and ensuring the proper operation of electronic equipment, while also providing support and training to school personnel.

Responsibilities
Install electronic equipment: security systems, PA systems, fire alarms, etc
Repair electronic systems, including communications, audiovisual, alarms, television, DVD sound systems, PA systems, security systems, fire alarms, etc
Monitor sound equipment, PA systems, fire alarms, security systems, and telephones to ensure that equipment is working properly and safely
Research, inspect, design, install, and maintain the equipment for all the systems to ensure the system and equipment are working properly, and replace outdated equipment as needed
Coordinate with administration and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently
Orient school personnel on the proper uses of DVDs, security systems, PA systems, fire alarms, voice mail, etc
Maintain tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in a safe operating condition
Stock and monitor equipment and supplies to maintain required inventory levels
Transport various items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) to ensure the availability of materials required at job sites
Adhere to all district safety practices, procedures, and policies
Communicate and work effectively with diverse individuals and groups of people while maintaining confidentiality and building positive working relationships with employees and stakeholders
Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars, as assigned, to gather information required to perform functions
Work under limited supervision, utilizing time-management and prioritization strategies, accurately processing detailed information, and meeting deadlines
Adapt to changing work priorities, prioritize, meet deadlines, work as part of a team, work with frequent interruptions, attention to detail, and accuracy
Support a team environment by collaborating with own and other work units to effectively perform the duties of the position
Assist other personnel as may be required to ensure an efficient and effective work environment
Speak, read, write, analyze, understand, and follow written and verbal communication in English, including grammar and punctuation; listen to, and understand information and ideas presented verbally or in writing
Demonstrate professional workplace etiquette and represent the district in a professional manner
Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements efficiently and effectively
As needed, roll, push, pull, bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Qualification
Required
All positions require selected candidates to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check
High school diploma or equivalent
Have one (1) or more years of job-related experience
Basic experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), and experience using data-based software
Speak, read, write, present professionally, analyze, understand, and interpret written and verbal communications in English
Experience operating standard office equipment, including phone, scanner, and copy machine
Ability to roll, push, pull, bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
Valid Utah driver's license and evidence of insurability
Preferred
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and experience using data-based software
Experience in a K-12 education or public employment environment
