Commercial Operations Consultant
Responsibilities
Support multiple client engagements concurrently, balancing priorities across different commercial environments
Work directly with client commercial teams at a hands-on, operational level
Support execution, insight, and enablement across Sales and broader GTM functions
Flex across different Commercial Ops responsibilities as client needs evolve
Operate as part of a Tioga engagement team, with a Tioga Managing Director always leading the overall client relationship
Build, maintain, and enhance commercial reporting and dashboards
Use tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, advanced Excel, and CRM-native reporting
Translate data into clear, actionable insights for sales and commercial leaders
Support pipeline visibility, forecast hygiene, and performance tracking
Administer, configure, and support mainstream CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or HubSpot
Improve data quality, adoption, and usability through coaching and light governance
Act as a practical partner to commercial leaders — not a 'system cop'
Support and help run core commercial rhythms including sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and MBRs
Prepare materials, structure agendas, and track actions and follow-ups
Help bring consistency and clarity to how teams operate
Develop and run onboarding programs for new sales hires
Support sales training initiatives (logistics, reinforcement, tracking)
Help leaders turn enablement ideas into operational reality
Support administration of sales incentive compensation plans
Track performance versus targets and support payout processes
Improve clarity, transparency, and trust in incentive programs
Translate loosely defined commercial needs into clear requirements and action plans
Document processes, operating models, and tool usage in a way that supports adoption
Plan and manage discrete workstreams or initiatives alongside Tioga engagement leads
Support time-boxed initiatives such as territory planning, process improvement, or tool rollouts
Participate in advisory-oriented workstreams, including leading working sessions, presenting options and tradeoffs, and helping client stakeholders drive toward decisions
Qualification
Required
3+ years in a dedicated Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Revenue Operations, or GTM Operations role
Experience working full-time in direct support of commercial functions (Sales, Revenue, or GTM)
Regular, hands-on interaction with commercial leaders and sales teams
Experience must be primarily commercial-focused — not a Finance, IT, or general Ops role with partial commercial responsibility
Deep, hands-on experience with at least one mainstream reporting / analytics platform (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, or similar)
Deep, hands-on experience with at least one mainstream CRM platform (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, or similar)
Strength in at least three of the following areas: Commercial reporting & analytics, CRM administration & enablement, Sales operating cadence & meeting support, Sales onboarding & enablement, Sales incentive compensation administration, Requirements definition & process documentation, Workstream or initiative support across multiple stakeholders, Ad hoc commercial project support
Preferred
Prior experience as a Sales individual contributor
Management consulting or professional services experience
Exposure to adjacent GTM tools (e.g., marketing automation, sales engagement, customer success platforms, data enrichment, integration tooling)
Relevant certifications (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, PowerBI)
