Responsibilities
Design, code, and implement new applications and databases, as well as new features for existing systems, based on requirements in the product backlog
Develop and execute test plans (including automated tests when feasible) to verify that software meets all functional requirements and is bug-free
Draft and update end-user operational instructions, release notes, and other technical documentation for new or updated applications, ensuring users and administrators have up-to-date guidance
Provide ongoing maintenance for deployed applications, including troubleshooting and resolving defects, and implementing enhancements based on documented change requests
Qualification
Required
Three (3) years of experience in application development or a four-year degree in relevant concentration
Proficiency in developing web-based applications; experience with JavaScript and HTML for front-end development
Experience with the ServiceNow platform or similar enterprise application platforms
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment is beneficial, as the team uses iterative development with sprints and backlog tracking
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) L-level security clearance (or higher, if required)
Must follow all security protocols and handle sensitive information in accordance with DOE and Navy regulations
Expected to uphold a drug-free workplace and may be subject to background investigations or additional vetting procedures in line with DOE guidelines
Must comply with all relevant DOE security regulations and federal laws
