Responsibilities

Gather, process, and update spatial data using GIS tools, particularly QGIS

Work with OpenStreetMap (OSM) data models and large spatial datasets to improve data quality and accuracy

Utilize mapping services such as Google Maps, HERE, and OSM for mapping and research projects

Develop and maintain automated data pipelines using Python and other tools to process large datasets efficiently

Implement and improve ETL workflows, ensuring clean, structured, and high-quality data for analysis and downstream applications

Apply data cleansing techniques to remove errors and ensure the integrity of incoming data

Conduct web research to gather information for mapping projects, leveraging web scraping tools such as Selenium to automate data collection processes

Use analytical skills to develop innovative solutions to complex data problems, including spatial data analysis and manipulation

Perform advanced data analysis and manipulation using Pandas and SQL, ensuring efficient and accurate data transformations

Write and maintain Python scripts for data processing, ensuring code quality through unit testing and version control with GIT

Implement manual and automated testing for data pipelines, utilizing tools like Postman and CI/CD frameworks to ensure smooth deployment

Work with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, to manage data storage, processing, and pipeline automation using services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, and EC2

Process and analyze big data using distributed computing tools, ensuring scalability and performance optimization
