Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting of MySQL databases across various versions (including MySQL 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4)
The candidate should have experience working in high-availability environments and demonstrate strong skills in automation, security, and compliance
Perform periodic maintenance / patching as required
Monitor database performance and perform proactive tuning
Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security
Define and implement best practices and automation initiatives
Lead database migration projects (on-prem to cloud / version upgrades)
Qualification
Required
5-8 years of experience in MySQL Database Administration
In-depth knowledge of MySQL versions 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4
Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases to ensure their operational efficiency
Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security
Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues or bottlenecks
Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization
Implement security measures in line with compliance standards and best practices
Work with software developers to optimize queries and improve database design
Solid understanding of Unix/Linux system administration related to MySQL
Proficiency in writing complex shell scripting for automation
Good communication skills with both technical and management teams
