Responsibilities

Operate motor vehicles (e.g., 2-4WD pickups, flatbeds, stake-beds) to transport personnel, tools, and materials to work sites; comply with traffic laws and agency policies
Performs janitorial duties for custodial and grounds
Operate heavy power equipment such as lawn mowers, chain says, brush cutters, brush chippers, and all types of hand and light power tools to maintain buildings, grounds, roads, etc
Apply safe work practices: pre-use inspections, lock-out/tag-out where applicable, PPE, chemical handling/dilution for janitorial/grounds work, and incident reporting
Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where soil is hard and compact and must grade or slope; occasionally breaks up pavement, soil, or concrete; mixes and pours concrete, asphalt, and hot/cold mix; fills and levels holes in damaged roads

Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program
You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties
Prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year thereafter, you will be required to sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked, suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle
You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists
You may be required to submit all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you
You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle
You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards
You may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
