Missouri University of Science and Technology is seeking an Assistant Teaching Professor of Theatre/Technical Director to enhance production quality and expand student training in technical theatre. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses and manage technical aspects of productions, contributing to the department's Theatre program and engaging with the broader creative-technology initiatives on campus.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate-level courses, e.g., Stagecraft, Stage Management, Entertainment Design
Assist with large-scale productions each semester
Contribute to strengthening our department's Theatre program
Engage in the life of our multidisciplinary department
Serve as a department liaison with the Leach Theatre Operations Management
Oversee technical aspects of use, maintenance, and storage of lights, video, sound equipment
Manage technical aspects of contracts
Assume supervisory role for student-workers
Engage in relevant service activities, e.g., undergraduate advising
Promote the program among current and prospective students to help build and sustain enrollments
Represent the program at appropriate venues

Required

Terminal degree, MA or MFA in Theatre or related field, or equivalent professional experience
Two years of supervisory experience/professional experience in theatrical lighting, sound, and/or scenic experience

Documented record of familiarity with industry standards
