Client Special Services Accounting Manager
Godfrey & Kahn is a multi-generational family office service team managing the financial, investment, estate, and legacy planning needs of families. The Client Special Services Accounting Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting, billing, and bookkeeping support, ensuring accurate financial transactions, and maintaining organized financial records while supporting the Director of Client Special Services.

Responsibilities
Performing all back-office accounting functions for clients including reconciliations, bill and expense payment, payroll, cash flow management, managing loans, tracking investments, the creation of management reports and monthly financial statements
Working with team and collaborating with Trust Accounting to understand all functions of the Family Office
Learning process and considerations applicable to each family and building internal controls and policies to document procedures and streamline day-to-day activities
Monitoring daily investment activity and working with custodians to ensure correct transaction accounting
Working with trust accounting group to research and coordinate custodian adjustments and corrections
Collaborate with internal legal counsel to organize and implement procedures and process for all legal billing done for the investment entities
Reviewing and validating quarterly investment advisor billing
Work with internal accounting team to streamline and coordinate the billing for all family office services
Working with trust officers and custodian to coordinate and actively participate in money movement transactions related to capital calls and distributions
Supporting the team in coordinating quarterly trust company meeting materials and annual meeting materials
Establishing and maintaining relationships with each family’s additional advisors (accountants, attorneys, etc.) and attaining quality service through collaboration
Serving as a backup to all members within the Client Special Services team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting with finance knowledge
Outstanding attention to detail with a proven ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Expert level Microsoft Excel skills
Superior communication and customer service skills with a strong ability to adapt to various situations
High degree of trustworthiness and integrity, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
CPA and 3+ years of experience in an investment-related role
Experience with QuickBooks and Addepar
Ability to fly to our South Dakota office quarterly or as needed
