Vice President, Heart and Vascular Service Line

Responsibilities
Accountable for quality, program and service line growth and development, service and physician deployment, integration and consistency, clinical strategy to inform operational budgeting and capital allocation, and access of services for designated geographical areas
Works with the service line Chair, section chiefs, clinical council, Sutter Health leaders, and medical staffs to drive quality and service line development initiatives across the system
Maintains operational responsibility for specific departments/services at each facility including responsibilities and matrix operating responsibilities
Partners with the service line Chair to build and manage the activities and resources of assigned departments
Ensures coordinated and harmonious working relationships within and among assigned departments, other hospital departments, medical foundations, hospitals, medical staffs, and the public
Has indirect oversight over both foundation and hospital-based service line leaders through a dotted line reporting relationship
Ensures the implementation of the strategic direction for the service line and drives the execution of strategic and quality initiatives
Responsible for maintaining alignment with key Sutter Health system wide initiatives and service line colleagues, ensuring that activities within the system and regional divisions are integrated within ambulatory and acute resources
Qualification
Required
Background in Heart and Vascular patient care and/or leading multidisciplinary Heart and Vascular programs or service line
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
Master's: MBA, MHA, MPH, MSN or related field
18 years recent relevant experience
Demonstrates clinical proficiency and knowledge to effectively plan and coordinate patient care consistent with applicable standards and regulations
Understanding of clinical operations and workflows, and how operational process/workflow impacts other department operations
Working knowledge and thorough understanding of health care laws, licensing and accreditation requirements, and clinical standards of practice with the ability to interpret and implement applicable requirements to ensure operational compliance
Knowledge of emerging trends and regulatory changes, and how it impacts operations
Business acumen, demonstrating ability to establish goals and standards to meet long and short-term objectives and make sound business decisions
Demonstrates credible leadership presence with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to engage others
Demonstrates familiarity with various methods of care delivery and quality improvement concepts
Demonstrated progressive management ability in providing administrative direction to innovative programs within the healthcare field
Written and verbal communication skills, as well as effective human resource skills are essential
Demonstration of effective management skills, knowledge of hospital administration and agency compliance in patient care delivery systems
