Responsibilities
Lead or assist in the planning, design, and execution of water and wastewater projects for municipal clients
Prepare plans, specifications, and reports for water treatment facilities, distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, lift stations, and stormwater systems
Perform hydraulic modeling, cost estimating, and permitting tasks related to water infrastructure
Work closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to ensure project requirements and compliance
Provide technical guidance to junior staff and designers
Support project management functions, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
Conduct field investigations, inspections, and construction oversight as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline
Minimum of 4 years of professional engineering experience, with emphasis in water, wastewater, or stormwater projects
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois or ability to obtain within 12 months
Proficiency with engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D
Strong understanding of regulatory permitting processes and local/state/federal requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred
Knowledge of WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or similar tools is a plus
