Project Engineer - Municipal
Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental is a fast-growing Midwest engineering environmental firm seeking a motivated Project Engineer specialized in Municipal markets. The role involves applying engineering expertise to diverse projects, making independent decisions, and fostering relationships with clients and municipal staff.
Civil Engineering
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate work
Apply standard engineering practices and techniques
Adjust and correlate data
Recognize discrepancies and follow standard procedures
Build relationships with clients, municipal staff, board members, and key decision-makers
Work effectively under tight deadlines
Project cost estimating
Supporting construction staff with field changes and clarifications
Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and budget planning
Coordinate permitting with regulatory agencies and navigate local/state requirements
Represent and support the team at board/council meetings (1-2/month, varies)
Mentor junior staff and provide technical QA/QC
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering
Five or more years of experience in civil design and project management, preferably at a professional consulting firm
Licensed professional engineer or ability to secure licensure shortly after starting employment
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to speak and write well
Team player
Preferred
Experience in transportation, private development, stormwater or hydraulic modeling
