Texas Department Of Criminal Justice is seeking an Administrative Assistant IV for their Information Technology Division. This role involves providing complex administrative support, developing filing systems, coordinating correspondence, and assisting in program planning and vendor interactions.

Responsibilities
Performs technical assistance work for an agency program; develops administrative and technical assistance policies and procedures; responds to inquiries regarding technical program policies and procedures; and assists in the implementation of program planning
Develops, coordinates, and maintains an automated records management and filing system to include fixed assets, equipment acquisitions, transfers, system maintenance, warranty, and vendor information; and compiles and edits data, makes calculations, and prepares summaries and reports
Coordinates the preparation and distribution of correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents; interprets and disseminates information concerning programs and procedures; and processes and distributes information technology requests for services
Assists in researching technical issues regarding product descriptions and specifications for hardware, software, and consumable products; corresponds and meets with vendors regarding product information; and coordinates work with staff, other departments of the agency, and vendors
Coordinates office duties to include ordering supplies; manages and maintains schedules and travel arrangements, and prepares travel vouchers; performs time keeping for support staff; and provides information and assistance in the program area
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED
Three years full-time, wage-earning customer service, clerical, administrative support, technical program support, and criminal justice experience. Fifteen semester hours from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) may be substituted for each six months of experience
Knowledge of office practices and procedures
Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely
Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public
Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Skill in administrative problem-solving techniques
Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local network environment
Skill to prepare and maintain complex records and files in an automated system
Skill to plan work in order to meet established guidelines
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs
Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 15 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment
Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane
Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing only the essential functions include computer and related equipment, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, dolly, and automobile
Preferred
Data gathering and assessment experience in an information technology environment
Microsoft Office experience
Government experience
Project coordination experience
Knowledge of agency accounting system
Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes
