Workers’ Compensation Specialist - State Prog Admin Intermediate
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is responsible for developing policies and providing essential services to improve the well-being of Minnesotans. They are seeking a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to oversee the regional workers’ compensation program and ensure compliance with relevant statutes and policies.

Responsibilities
Administering and overseeing the regional workers’ compensation program to ensure compliance with Minnesota state workers’ compensation statutes
Remain within the parameters of and in compliance with all applicable state, federal and DOT laws, rules, MnDOT Workers’ Compensation Policy, statewide policies, guidelines and contracts in order to mitigate agency financial impact
Qualification
Required
Two years of professional experience in the following areas:
Experience with MN Workers' Compensation Laws and Rules (e.g., MS 176.001 - 176.862) sufficient to apply best practices in claims management and facilitate early return-to-work strategies
Experience reviewing and summarizing medical documentation (e.g., Physician's Reports, Independent Medical Examination (IME) findings, treatment plans) sufficient to assess claim compensability and support effective case management within the context of Minnesota Workers' Compensation
Experience interpreting and applying findings from judicial orders and settlement agreements (e.g., Findings and Orders or Stipulations for Settlement) within the framework of Minnesota Workers' Compensation, sufficient to effectively administer claims and advise stakeholders
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent software, sufficient to manage data in spreadsheets (e.g., pivot tables, formulas) and draft official correspondence/reports
Experience with basic math sufficient to conduct calculations related to benefit eligibility and payment coordination
Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check
