Responsibilities

Support engineering with moderately complex engineering duties and other hands-on tasks, particularly focusing on Internal Research and Development programs

Researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment. Aids in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers

May act as technical liaison to the Advanced Concepts and Business Development leads, assisting them in validating design concepts and qualifying opportunities

Understand, manage, and operate within the set test cadences to ensure all tests are performed efficiently and on schedule

Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues during integration/test events

Reviews project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem and possible solutions, and to support the test design and setup

Possess and utilize hands-on skills to include use of various hardware and software-related tools to troubleshoot, resolve issues, load software, etc

Able to work independently for a weekly basis

Have a strong familiarity with test range operations to effectively manage and conduct tests

Work confidently in shop and lab environments and maintains a working knowledge of the DRS product base

Provides hands-on feedback to engineers

Adapt to flexible test schedules and be prepared to adjust plans as necessary to meet project demands

May coordinate maintenance projects

Mentor and coach less experienced technicians

Represent DRS in a professional manner at all times, ensuring high standards of conduct and performance

Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Required

Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

4+ years of relevant experience

Familiarization of blueprints and wiring schematics

Must have strong mechanical skills

Willing and able to travel 50-75% of the time

U.S. Citizenship required

This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
