Senior Technology Architect
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world, and they are seeking a Senior Technology Architect to shape the bank’s future technology landscape. This role involves designing scalable and secure solutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic leadership while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions for core banking, payments, lending, investment products, and digital platforms
Establish and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and documentation
Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve system performance and scalability
Ensure compliance with regulatory, data management and security standards in all designs
Develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance cybersecurity and operational resilience
Define and execute architecture aligned with strategic business objectives
Develop long-term technology roadmaps and future-state architecture visions
Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and their impact
Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology requirements with business goals
Mentor design and development teams on architectural best practices
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in software design and architecture
5+ years within financial services, focusing on banking, payments, or lending
Solid experience within enterprise architecture (TOGAF, BIAN, or related)
Experience in system design, application development, and operational resilience
Advanced knowledge of software architecture, microservices, API integrations (including open banking/finance), messaging frameworks (ex MQ, Kafka, etc)
Experience with data management and analytics platforms
Experience with cloud-native solutions, containerization, and public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
Experience with both bespoke and vendor platforms (FIS an asset), and combinations thereof
TOGAF 9 certification
Azure or AWS related certifications
CISSP or equivalent certification is an asset
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
