Mid LevelSnowrelic Inc is seeking a Data Engineer to support Treasury’s data modernization initiative by migrating legacy datasets from SAS to Snowflake on AWS. The role focuses on developing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting secure cloud analytics platforms.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute data pipelines to migrate datasets from SAS to Snowflake on AWS
Extract and transform legacy data using SAS scripts, SQL, and Python
Load data into Snowflake using bulk loading and staging techniques
Support data storage and access using Amazon S3 and Snowflake stages
Perform data quality checks, reconciliation, and validation post-migration
Assist in converting SAS data models to Snowflake-compatible schemas
Work with Parquet, CSV, and JSON data formats
Follow Federal security, governance, and documentation standards
Support testing, deployment, and operational monitoring
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience with SAS data extraction and transformation
Experience with Snowflake or cloud-based data warehouses
Working knowledge of AWS services (S3, IAM, basic Glue)
Proficiency in SQL and Python
Understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts
Familiarity with data security best practices
Preferred
Experience supporting Federal or Government data environments
Exposure to AWS Glue or cloud ETL tools
AWS Certification preferred (AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Data Analytics – Associate)
Snowflake foundational or SnowPro certification a plus
Active Public Trust clearance is plus, however client will sponsor clearance for qualified candidates
