Principal Financial Group is hiring for a Financial Analyst III to join their Life Pricing Actuarial team. The role involves solving unique problems with advanced analytical skills while collaborating with various internal partners to support product development and pricing processes.

Responsibilities

Participate in the maintenance, preparation and analysis of financial information used in the product development and pricing processes

Work with a variety of technology including R, SAS, Excel, and Integrate/MG-ALFA to set rates, analyze profitability and competitiveness, provide reinsurance support, and much more

Use strong technical skills to do financial research and calculations, as well as maintain and build both new and existing processes

Collaborate across teams, partner with product management, inforce management, underwriting, technology teams, financial reporting, and others

Perform other job-related duties and special projects as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance or equivalent experience required

Must have strong problem solving, leadership and analytical skills

Demonstrates the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment

Preferred

2+ years of relevant experience preferred

Knowledge of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or the ability to learn, is preferred

Aptitude in programming languages is preferred
