Director of Business Development & Marketing

CGA Law Firm is a well-established and trusted Regional Law Firm located in York, Pennsylvania. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for overseeing marketing research, client and new business development programs, and managing the Firm’s marketing initiatives including website content and social media.

Responsibilities

Work with attorneys and practice groups to develop marketing plans and implement related campaigns and initiatives
Draft, review and edit a variety of marketing, collateral, pitch materials, ad creatives and ad copy
Develop, promote, and support in-person and virtual events including seminars, webinars, panel discussions, networking functions, speaking engagements and roundtables
Write and produce Firm profiles, proposals, and RFP responses
Evaluate needs and conceptualize, write, and produce practice area marketing material
Plan, execute and analyze results of Firm’s marketing research efforts to include client satisfaction, general market research, industry specific research and Firm specific research
Research and suggest content/topics and assist attorneys with writing of papers and articles for appropriate business and trade periodicals. Manage blog protocol with editorial team
Suggest editorial content/topics and assist writing and editing of practice group newsletters and alerts
Identify opportunities for Firm-hosted seminars as well as attorney presentations at non-Firm events, conferences, seminars, and conventions, etc
Work with practice group leaders, attorneys, and legal assistants to prepare appropriate seminar/presentation materials
Handle sponsorship responsibilities
Function as the strategic advisor for the use of all Firm marketing technology platforms, ensuring optimal utilization, appropriate maintenance and for achieving marketing and business development goals
Manage day-to-day operations for the Firm’s website, including the posting and removal of content, implementation of technology and troubleshooting. Identify, develop, and execute enhancements to the Firm’s website
Manage functionality, data, reporting, maintenance and enhancements to the Firm’s CRM and email marketing system (Mailchimp)
Manage social media platforms, including strategies for engagement
Use web, email, social media, content aggregators and other analytics tools to establish, monitor, and report on key metrics measuring effectiveness of the Firm’s marketing initiatives
Lead efforts to improve search engine optimization (SEO) in key areas, consistent with Firm goals and practice initiatives
Understand all marketing technology platforms and assist with the maintenance and enhancements to functionality and design and with user support. Keep current with existing and emerging web technologies, as well as, online marketing trends, particularly among professional services firms
Assist the Director of Marketing with assessing and analyzing the needs of the Firm’s practice groups, attorneys and administrative departments to ensure appropriate marketing technology support and seamless integration with content strategy
Any other tasks, projects or assignments as directed by the Director of Marketing and/or the Management Committee

Required

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field and five or more years of experience in a Law Firm
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions
Able to provide information and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, staff, and outside contacts, as well as vendors and consultants
Proficiency with social media platforms
Experience with digital marketing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
Excellent research skills
Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment
