Responsibilities
Maintain and install regulatory, directional, warning and construction signs; maintain inventory of signs used; complete work orders including work performed and materials and equipment used
Review City ordinance on street signs and markings pertaining to height; ensure street signs adhere to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and guidelines outlined in the ordinance
Paint pavement markings, school crosswalks and striping on City streets; use paint machine; maintain records on all work performed
Remain on call 24 hours per day, seven days a week on a rotating basis
Install and maintain street buttons
Layout and stripe City parking lots
Prune vegetation to prevent view obstructions
Apply preformed thermoplastic pavement markings in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations
Apply raised pavement markers in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations
Ensure that assigned signs & markings shop vehicles and equipment are serviced regularly; and perform minor repairs and maintenance as necessary
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
One (1) year experience in general labor operating motorized equipment
Must possess a valid driver's license
Preferred
Prefer experience in operating motorized equipment similar to that used in traffic operations (signs & markings) which includes working in heavy traffic conditions
