They are seeking a Patent Attorney – Electrical Engineering Associate to prepare and prosecute patent applications and collaborate with clients on strategic IP decisions.

Responsibilities
Prepare and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in electrical engineering–related technologies, including semiconductor devices, chip architecture, and integrated circuits
Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and landscape analyses to support client counseling and strategic IP decisions
Collaborate closely with clients, inventors, and in-house teams to understand technical innovations and align patent strategy with business objectives
Respond to office actions, manage ongoing prosecution matters, and maintain a well-organized docket
Work closely with other attorneys, patent agents, and staff to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality work product, and consistent client service
Support the development and protection of client IP portfolios through clear communication, sound judgment, and practical recommendations
Qualification
Required
Previous law firm experience required; Am Law 200, leading regional, or major boutique firm experience preferred
3 to 5 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
USPTO registration required
Admission to practice and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong academic credentials
Authorization to work in the U.S
Preferred
Background in electrical engineering with experience in circuits
Familiarity with technologies from companies such as STMicroelectronics, Tiwian Semiconductor, Panasonic, LG, Microsoft, or Fred Hutch
