The role involves designing and engineering projects and product offerings related to brewing equipment, including mechanical engineering and overseeing installation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer equipment offerings, including brewhouses, vessels, process pipelines, controls, and other equipment offerings

Draft P&IDs, product design drawings, and fabrication drawings in 2D and 3D CAD, laying out, and specifying technical devices, parts, and equipment, primarily using AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Work with brewers to provide equipment recommendations and to provide advice on the use of products

Occasionally travel to job sites for installation and repair

Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems or processes to meet requirements

Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information

Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs

Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions

Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Must have a strong understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles and calculations

a general understanding of process engineering, tank fabrication, gearboxes and motors, electrical control boxes and automation, cooling/heating systems, and sanitary fabrication standards, particularly in the food and beverage industry

BS in engineering or related technical degree or equivalent experience

Must have experience drafting in 3D using either SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor

Relevant engineering experience or significant education in any of the following fields: pressure vessel design, process engineering, electrical engineering, automation and controls, pipe and plant design, and/ or sanitary design

Preferred

knowledge of beverage production, brewing, and/or packaging processes a plus

commercial brewing experience or experience in a relevant engineering role preferred

forklift, rigging, osha safety, first aid / cpr, welding, hazmat, confined space entry, electrician, steam, plumbing, plc programming, quality assurance, or other certifications relevant engineering experience or significant education related to food and beverage processing equipment
