Holland & Hart is a national law firm looking for exceptional engineers for their patent practices. As a patent engineer, you will assist patent attorneys in guiding technology through the patent process while working closely with inventors and preparing patent applications.

Responsibilities

Help patent attorneys guide complex technology through various stages of the patent process

Work closely with attorneys to talk with inventors about new technology

Prepare descriptions and drawings of new technology for use in patent applications

Research differences between clients’ technology and the current state of the art

Draft arguments to U.S. and foreign patent offices

Negotiate the scope of legal protection to be granted in a patent

Qualification

Required

Strong academic record

Degree in electrical engineering (strongly preferred)

Stellar physics, computer science, or computer engineering candidates will be considered

Wireless communications experience is very desirable

Industry experience is a plus

Team player who wants to be a part of a collaborative patent group
