Responsibilities

Conduct structured brainstorming and design review sessions to optimize replication efficiency and ensure reliable failover processes
Assess feasibility and likelihood of success for the client’s proposed PostgreSQL configuration: Primary PostgreSQL Node: 16 cores CPU, 64 GB memory, 2 TB storage Hot Standby Node: 8–16 cores CPU, 32–64 GB memory, 2 TB storage Optional Hot Standby Node: 8–16 cores CPU, 32–64 GB memory, 2 TB storage
Provide guidance on replication mode selection (streaming replication, synchronous/asynchronous), data consistency, recovery point objectives, and failover readiness
Identify performance, architectural, or operational risks and recommend enhancements or alternatives
Advise on and validate configuration parameters for primary and hot standby nodes
Assist with installation, initial database configuration, replication setup, connection/security settings, and OpManager-specific considerations
Ensure adherence to best practices regarding resource allocation, storage configuration, monitoring, and maintenance planning
Provide knowledge transfer to client teams to build foundational PostgreSQL operational understanding
