SNAP Benefits Manager
The HR SOURCE is seeking a SNAP Benefits Manager who will be both a strategist and a practitioner with a deep understanding of state agency operations. This role involves overseeing eligibility operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and leading efforts to improve SNAP program effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Direct experience within a state SNAP program, including eligibility operations and compliance
Senior-level or leadership responsibility in SNAP, eligibility, or public assistance programs
Strong working knowledge of federal and state SNAP regulations and their practical application
Experience supporting or responding to SNAP Quality Control reviews and audits, including error rate analysis and corrective action planning
Familiarity with USDA/FNS and state oversight expectations
Eligibility determination, verification, and case processing
Identification of common eligibility and documentation errors
Audit preparation, response, and compliance support
Development of corrective actions that are practical and defensible
Translation of regulatory requirements into clear operational guidance
Effective communication with executives, managers, frontline staff, and external stakeholders
Translate audit findings into practical training for frontline eligibility staff to reduce recurring errors
Qualification
Required
