Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics
Cavender's is seeking a Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics to lead their enterprise BI and analytics strategy. Responsibilities
Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive the Mission, Vision and Values
Lead, mentor, and develop BI developers, reporting analysts, and data engineers
Recruit and allocate resources to support enterprise reporting and analytics demand
Manage BI work queues, including problem definition, data gathering, analysis, testing, and delivery
Serve as lead architect for enterprise data warehouse and analytics initiatives
Design, optimize, and govern Snowflake data models; oversee performance tuning and cost optimization
Lead development and deployment of dbt models and automated pipelines across multiple systems
Evaluate and integrate new data sources while maintaining governance standards
Translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions, metrics, and dashboards
Architect, build, and manage datasets, Power BI reports, and Sigma workbooks
Oversee predictive/prescriptive analytics and machine learning integrations
Identify data anomalies and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions
Produce ad hoc reports and executive-level insights for decision-making
Define and enforce metric governance, data quality standards, and documentation
Identify automation opportunities across reporting and analytics workflows
Ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive organizational data
Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, HR, and Operations
Advocate for BI tool adoption and conduct stakeholder training as needed
Duties may change and associates may be required to perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Data/Business Analytics, or related discipline
5 years of experience with Snowflake, Power BI, SQL, and modern BI platforms
5 years of experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Groovy) and API tools (PowerShell, cURL, Postman)
Demonstrated experience in CPG or retail-focused data modeling (POS, inventory, replenishment, merchandising, promotions, customer analytics)
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud technologies (ADF, Azure SQL, Functions, etc.)
Strong understanding of data warehouse frameworks and analytics engineering best practices
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Able to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
Hands-on, self-directed, and capable of working independently
Must be based in Tyler, TX or willing to relocate to East Texas
Preferred
Experience integrating CPG or retail channels (eCommerce, wholesale, store ops, supply chain, loyalty data)
Experience with machine learning or advanced analytics in Azure environments
Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data initiatives
High organizational skills, adaptability, and attention to detail
