Failure Analysis Engineer - CATU

Responsibilities

Responsible for the failure analysis of defective products in the factory and on the client side, completing root cause analysis in a timely manner, identifying product risks, and reducing customer complaints
Promote and follow up on quality improvement measures
Update and maintain lessons learned database based on customers’ complaint, regularly transfer lessons learned to other departments

Required

Bachelor degree or above in electrical engineering, chemistry or materials science related majors
Understand the structure and functional principles of lithium-ion batteries and power battery systems, as well as the manufacturing process, and be proficient in the related failure mechanisms of the system involving mechanical, electrical, chemical, and thermal issues
Familiar with standard problem-solving tools, such as 8D/ FTA/ Fishbone diagram/ 5Why
Skilled in using Microsoft Office/Matlab/Python with strong data analysis capabilities
Understand SEM (scanning electron microscope)/ FTIR (Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy) / ICP-AES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy) / EIS (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) and other battery/materials related analysis equipment principles and methods
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Regular, predictable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role
Ability to move throughout offices, manufacturing facilities, and construction areas, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting as required
Ability to work in varied environments, including offices, industrial, and construction settings
Willingness to travel to other job sites as business needs require
