The Indianapolis Colts are seeking a Writing & Podcast Intern who is a strong storyteller with experience in covering sports. The intern will work closely with the Writer and Audio Initiatives Manager to generate written content for Colts.com and contribute to the podcast lineup.

Sports Leagues and Teams

Responsibilities

Attend Colts press conferences, practices and games to report, write, edit and publish written content
Write in a tone consistent with Colts.com style guidelines
Write straight news and develop story ideas for notebooks and feature articles
Assist in transcribing press conferences and media availability
Assist in publishing press releases to Colts.com
Assist in managing Colts roster and transactions on Colts.com
Research and assist in the development and execution of the Colts audio initiatives

Required

College degree or equivalent work experience
Proficient, creative writer with background covering sports, preferably football
Ability to write for a team website and avoid editorializing
Professionalism to work with and interview NFL players, coaches, and football operations staff
Comfortable writing football and non-football stories
Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple assignments at once
Working knowledge of Adobe Audition, Photoshop and Premiere, as well as CMS platforms and SEO best practices
Ability to work a daily schedule as well as nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability and willingness to learn and grow as a reporter and writer
College degree in journalism or equivalent experience
