Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is offering a Financial Audit Internship for undergraduate students in the Mideast region. The role involves participating in audit operations, building skills through active assignments, and engaging in professional development training.

Responsibilities
Learning to examine and review records, reports, financial statements, and management practices for local government entities and other organizations receiving public funds
Evaluating the fairness of financial statement presentation
Assessing the adequacy of internal controls
Analyzing the efficiency and effectiveness of an entity's operations and systems
Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, and grant agreements
Qualification
Required
Applicants should have successfully completed at least 6 credit hours of accounting coursework
We are seeking students who are rising juniors, seniors, or enrolled in graduate accounting programs
Successful interns are those who are adaptable, able to think critically, work well both individually and as part of a team, and are willing to learn and grow
Candidates should exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal communication, organizational, and writing skills
Interns are expected to apply their classroom knowledge to meaningful audit work
This position requires a criminal background check
Preferred
Preference will be given to students who have completed intermediate or advanced accounting classes
