NEOGOV is seeking a Recreation Leader II for the Seaside Day Camp under the City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. The role involves leading recreational activities for youths aged 5 to 12, mentoring campers and counselors, and ensuring a safe and engaging camp environment.

Responsibilities

Lead age appropriate activities, field trips, crafts, cooking, sports, special events, organized group games and tournaments, and supervise campers

Plan and Lead arts, crafts, games, and activities according to the theme of each week

Serve as mentors and Role models for campers and CIT’s

Mentor Camp Counselors to adhere to seaside policies and procedures

Work as part of a team of leaders, while also working independently from Camp director to adjust activates to meet the needs of each age group daily

Safely and appropriately supervise campers

Use positive discipline and communicate effectively with parents and campers

Supervise all setup, breakdown, and cleaning of camp facility each day

Coordinate with the Camp director to establish and adhere to activity rotation schedule and site logistics to ensure safe and efficient operations

Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and equipment within budgetary guidelines

Required

Two (2) years of experience in customer service or youth recreation or an equivalent combination of education and experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. required

Applicants must be 18 years or older

Currently hold or ability to obtain First-aid/CPR certification upon hire
