The Director of Production Planning will align production and inventory strategies with company objectives, driving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through collaboration with various departments.

Responsibilities

Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices in compliance with regulatory agencies and Company policy

Oversees MRP processes, material planning, and production scheduling to optimize resource utilization and on-time delivery

Partners with Operations, Sales, Procurement, and Finance to balance production efficiency, inventory health, and service levels

Develops inventory strategies that support working capital goals and align with customer service objectives

Leads the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, aligning production capacity, inventory targets, and customer demand

Prepares monthly and quarterly production plans and inventory targets

Drives adoption of digital tools, automation, and analytics to improve planning accuracy and decision speed

Analyzes production data to identify trends, forecast needs, and inform capacity planning decisions

Establishes key performance metrics for planning accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover; identifies continuous improvement opportunities

Hires, coaches, develops, and evaluates planning staff, creating a culture of accountability and operational excellence

Leads planning team development, succession planning, and cross-functional project support

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
